THE FULL MOON STORY

Going through some Vogue editorials because I am in the mood of fashion illustrating! I went across an amazing photo-shoot done by Kim Kyung Soo. He was asked by Vogue Korea to do a serious of fashion portraits that would capture the traditional Korean custom the “Hanbok”. What I like about his photos is that is tells a story and I tried so hard to keep that feeling when I drew them.

here are some photos that I took of my illustrations using instagram.

“I wanted a neutral stage; only shadows and reflections mattered to me: Colours, faces and models were enhanced by cold and light tones creating an almost surreal feeling.” Kim Kyung Soo

FASHION ILLUSTRATION BOOKS U MUST HAVE!

I have been asked about the best fashion illustration books and I thought it would be useful to post about them. Some of the books I own are here with me in the U.S and sadly some are left back home! anyway, here are a few that I think u need to have in order to know more about the different techniques and styles that have been used through the years.

here are some books and a link to amazon that will make it easier for you to check the price and take a peek inside them!

NOTE: some of these books contain nudity.

A BOOK I LOVE

I will be sharing some art books every now and then. I chose this book because I dont like to stick to only one kind of art materials and I bet a lot of you are like me. Changing the materials you use boosts your creativity and even though I dont have the space nor the time to make art that is messy I like to read this book and plan on future projects that *inshallah* soon ill get to make!

here is the book link on amazon

L’amour fou

So I subscribed to netflix few days ago, and I was exploring the lists of the movies they have, looking for any interesting films that would trigger some artistic sense in me! and I actually did!

I found a french documentary about the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his friend and lover Pierre Bergé. I loved how it started, and loved how their story was told using the art pieces and photos they have owned and taken through the years. I recommend you watch L’amour fou, and make sure you have a note next to you to write down all the interesting names of designers, artists, models and muses to research about them later!

hope u liked the illustration!
