Raising The Stereotype

I am really proud to be a part of the upcoming exhibition at the Ara Gallery in Dubai, the opening reception will be next week on the 4th of october and will last until the 29th of next month.

this is my first experience of showing my art publicly in a gallery, and I am so lucky to start internationally with a group of talented artists, I hope that ill get the recognition soon by Saudi galleries.

read this so u can have a general idea about the exhibition’s concept.

“Raising the Stereotype; an exhibition dedicated to deliver a message from the Arab youth to the rest of the world ,

With the constant bombardment of media into our daily lives, it is easy for one to develop certain stereotypes about different races, religions, and cultures. Muslims and Arabs are among those who have been overshadowed by generalizations that are mostly inaccurate assumptions. There is no one to blame, but we owe it to ourselves and to the world to raise those stereotypes and project the true essence of who we are, how we live, and what we stand for..  ” via TheAraGallery

Nine artists will be presenting 8 different concepts that cover their views and feelings on stereotypes; stereotypes that they themselves and others have experienced as Muslims and Arabs in the world today. These artists are:

Imann Al Dakheel
Laudi Abilama
Malak ElShazly
Mona F Al Gurg & Wendy W Fok
Mona Al Qahtani
Sara ElKamel
Sarah Ayoub Agha
Soraya Darwish
